Prez pardons 670 prisoners on Constitution Day

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 19

On the occasion of the Constitution Day, President Ramchandra Paudel has, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, pardoned the remaining sentence of 670 prisoners.

According to the Office of the President, the pardon was granted in accordance with the Criminal Offense (Sentencing and Enforcement) Act and the Prison Regulations, the writ of the Supreme Court and the Senior Citizens Act.

President Paudel has pardoned the remaining sentence with effect from the September 20, on the recommendation of the meeting of the Council of Ministers on September 15, according to a statement issued by the Office of the President here today.
