KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 2
At least 113 climbers including legendary mountaineer Mingma Sherpa from the Seven Summit Treks made it to the summit of Mt Manaslu this season, expedition organizers said.
From Seven Summit treks and its sister concerns - 14 Peaks Expedition and Global Expedition, 113 persons successfully scaled the world's eighth highest peak in the autumn season, said Thaneswar Guragai, General Manager at SST.
'This is the highest number of summits made possible from the SST and its sister wings,' Guragai said. Established by four Sherpa brothers, who themselves are mountaineers and have set multiple climbing re, SST has significantly contributed to the trekking and expedition industry in Nepal, and remain committed to promoting high-altitude adventure tourism in the Himalayan and Karakoram regions in the world. 'SST has recently been honoured by the government for paying the highest mountaineering royalty,' Guragai said.
According to him, SST is dedicated to promoting adventure tourism in Nepal since its inception in 2010. It specializes in trekking and expedition. For the past 20 years, it has been organizing expeditions in the 8000ers of Nepal, China and Pakistan.
SST truly believes in the importance of making tourism accessible to all, and continues working to achieve this goal, said the SST chairperson Mingma Sherpa. 'We always strive to offer the best service to our clients. It is our commitment,' said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, the SST director.
This season, SST Directors CHhang Dawa Sherpa and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa handled the expeditions on Mt Manaslu from the base camp, Guragai said.
