KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 8

Chairman of the CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has stated that the provincial chairmanship of the party should be elected unopposed.

Speaking at the first convention of the Sudurpaschim Province committee of the party held on Sunday, Chairman Oli expressed the belief that electing the provincial chair with consensus would send a positive message.

He reminded party representatives at the convention that it was a mistaken trend to engage in self-evaluation rather than adhering to the leadership's evaluation. Oli emphasized the importance of party leaders selecting leadership without bias.

Furthermore, Chairman Oli shared his concern that the UML was facing challenges and called for unity among leaders and cadres to counter any threats to the party. He stressed the need to build a cultured and peaceful society.

During the event, the General Secretary of the party, Shankar Pokhrel, urged all leaders and cadres to establish the UML as the foremost political force in the country.

Other leaders who addressed the convention included Lekhraj Bhatta, Chhabilal Bishwokarma, and Kashinath Adhikari.'
