Mechi-Mahakali bicycle tour begins to promote tourism

JHAPA, OCTOBER 28

The Mechi-Mahakali bicycle tour, aimed at promoting tourism industry, commenced from Kakarvitta of Jhapa this morning.

It has been joined by 13 people from Makwanpur. Mechinagar outgoing mayor Bimal Acharya and Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Ekraj Giri bade farewell to the team. The journey organised by the Makwanpur-based Himalayan Riders has the participations of retired civil service employees, teachers, journalists and others.

On the occasion, Society founding chair Chetnath Acharya stressed the need of promoting the cycle culture in the country, not only for positive impact on health but also for its environmental significance.

Throughout the tour, the participants will explore various tourist destinations in Nepal, disseminating their significance. It will reach upon reaching Mahakali in ten days, FNJ Makwanpur former chair Bhanubhakta Acharya said.
