Laws to be made on transitional justice keep victims in centre: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 1

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that laws related to transitional justice will be established soon, based on political consensus, with a focus on keeping the victims at the center of the process.

During a conversation with media representatives at a tea reception organized by the CPN (UML) at the party headquarters on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dahal shared that discussions with leaders of major political parties on this issue have progressed positively.

He mentioned that he recently discussed the matter with CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane emphasized that political parties should take the country's current situation seriously. He urged political leaders to prioritize issues of common interest, as the prosperity of the country is a shared goal.

In attendance at the event were Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, NC President Deuba, former Prime Ministers Jhala Nath Khanal and Baburam Bhattarai, former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Khilraj Regmi, Rastriya Janamorcha Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC, General-Secretary of the CPN (ML) CP Mainali, and others.'
