Three held with two kilos of gold from Nagdhunga

Three individuals have been apprehended at Nagdhunga in Kathmandu for possessing two kilos of gold.

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 8

Three individuals have been apprehended at Nagdhunga in Kathmandu for possessing two kilos of gold.

According to Central Police Spokesperson Kuber Kadayat, a police squad from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division detained Biru Tamang, Gyalsen Tamang (aged 28), and Sunil Bhujel (aged 21) from Gosaikunda rural municipality in Rasuwa, along with the seized gold.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the gold was smuggled into the country via the Nepal-China border point in Rasuwa. Further inquiries are ongoing.

The contraband was concealed within the gear box of a pickup Scorpio.
