PM Dahal directs initiation of process to pay due amount to contractors

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 14

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the government to promptly provide the amount owed to contractors.

During a discussion held today at his office with construction entrepreneurs, PM Dahal instructed the immediate initiation of the process to pay dues to these entrepreneurs.

Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala, Chief Secretary Dr. Bikuntha Aryal, Finance Secretary Dr. Krishnahari Puskar, Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Keshav Kumar Sharma, and Director General at the Department of Roads, Sushil Babu Dhakal, also attended the discussions.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the Finance Minister to promptly release Rs 1.71 billion, the outstanding amount from the last year, and Rs 6.30 billion due so far in the current fiscal year, as stated by the PM's Private Secretariat.

It is expected that development construction works will pick up speed, and the economy will become more vibrant once these amounts are paid to the contractors.
