NFSJ invites applications for multimedia storytelling workshop

KATHMANDU: Nepal Forum of Science Journalists has announced that applications are open for a five-day multimedia storytelling workshop for the journalists, scheduled to take place in Helambu, Sindhupalchowk from February 29 to March 4, 2024. The workshop is being organized by the NFSJ in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu.

According to a statement issued by the NFSJ, the workshop is designed to equip journalists with advanced multimedia storytelling skills, offering a platform for the evidence-based coverage of climate and environmental issues.

Working journalists with three to five years of experience in environment or climate science reporting can apply for the workshop, according to the statement. Following the workshop, a total of 15 participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with assigned mentors and engage in follow-up virtual meetings, it adds.

The NFSJ is a non-profit social organization of science journalists affiliated with various news agencies, newspapers, TV stations, and online platforms. The primary objective of the NFSJ is to enhance the capacity of journalists covering subjects related to science, technology, health, environment, agriculture, astronomy, and other relevant fields. Established in 2014, NFSJ is one of the member associations of the World Federation of Science Journalists.
