BNL’s summer offer
KATHMANDU: Bottlers Nepal Ltd (BNL), the producer of aerated drinks has unveiled a new ‘Bhagya Ghumaune Offer’, under the crown prize scheme that gives away ‘loaded’ gifts including Splendor Plus motorcycle, Hercules bicycle, five gm gold coins, cash prizes and free drinks, states a press release issued here on Monday by the company. Commenced by Bottlers Nepal Ltd Kathmandu and Bottles Nepal (Terai) Ltd, the scheme is available in 175 ml, 200 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1.5 litre bottles. — HNS
Murder condemned
KATHMANDU: FNCCI has condemned the killing of Bhagwan Das Shrestha, former president of Nepal Motion Picture Association. Such repeated actions have terrorized the industrial sector, states a press release issued her on Monday. “Responsible organisation should take serious measures to prevent such cowardly act,” FNCCI requests. — HNS
Agro seed distribution
SINDHULI: District agriculture office, Sindhuli has distributed seed of off-seasonable
vegetables free of cost to 500 farmers in the district. The free distribution of seeds was carried out to encourage local farmers towards commercial cultivation of off-seasonable vegetables. — RSS
Export increases
BIRATNAGAR: Various items worth about Rs 4.26 billion have been exported from the eastern development region during the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The export in the previous fiscal year was Rs 5.82 billion. The exported items included woolen carpet, coffee, mustard oil and food grains, rice, cheese balls, tea, instant noodles, leathers, herbs and washing shops. — RSS
BoE keeps rate steady
LONDON: The Bank of England (BoE) left its key interest rate unchanged at 4.75 per cent for the ninth month in a row on Monday. The predicted decision came at the end of the bank’s first meeting after Tony Blair’s re-election as Britain’s PM. — AFP
