Netherlands beats Nepal to win Tri-nation T20 Int'l series title

The Netherlands secured the Tri-nation T20 International Series title after defeating Nepal by four wickets in the final match held today at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Despite Nepal's challenging total of 185 runs, the Netherlands successfully chased down the target in 19.3 overs, losing six wickets along the way.
Michael Levitt played a pivotal role in the Netherlands' victory, scoring a half-century with 54 runs off just 29 balls, which included three sixes and six fours.
Max O'Dowd contributed 22 runs off 23 balls, with one six and two fours. The Netherlands' opening duo, Levitt and O'Dowd, laid a solid foundation with a partnership of 83 runs for the first wicket.
Nepal's Kushal Malla made an impact by taking two wickets in his first over when he joined the bowling lineup in the ninth over. However, it wasn't enough to halt the Netherlands' momentum.
Vikramajit Singh added 29 runs off 23 balls with three sixes, while captain Scott Andrew Edwards contributed just two runs to the team's total.
Sybrand Engelbrecht was dismissed after scoring 48 runs with three sixes and four fours in 29 balls, while Teja Nidamanuru was dismissed after scoring just two runs.
Bowler Timm van der Gugten contributed 21 runs with the help of two sixes and two fours in five balls, while Roelof van der Merwe added two runs to secure the Netherlands' victory, both remaining not out. Levitt, who also took two wickets, was declared the Player of the Match.
Batting first after winning the toss, Nepal made 184 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing eight wickets. Opener Aashif Shekh contributed 47 runs, including three sixes and one four off 37 balls, while Kushal Bhurtel made 20 runs.
Captain Rohit Poudel scored 25 runs, and Gulshan Jha contributed 34 runs. Kushal Malla made 26 runs in 11 balls with the help of three sixes. Aarif Sekh could not score any runs, while Karan KC managed nine runs. Sompal Kami and Pratis GC each made six runs.
Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, Michael Levitt, and Sybrand Englebrecht each took two wickets for the Netherlands.
Nepal entered the final after securing the second position with four points in the league phase, while the Netherlands topped the table with five points.
