Nepal suffered a defeat against the Netherlands by a margin of two runs in today's match held as part of the Tri-nation International T20 series.
This marked Nepal's second consecutive loss, following their defeat to Namibia by 20 runs in the first match held on Tuesday.
In pursuit of the 185-run target set by the Netherlands, Nepal was restricted to 182 runs, losing eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Dipendra Airi contributed 63 runs off 34 balls, while Rohit Kumar Poudel achieved a half-century with 50 runs off 35 balls. Additionally, Ashif Sheikh scored 34 runs off 23 balls, with Kushal Malla and Karan KC contributing 11 runs each, and Sandip Jora making eight runs.
In terms of bowling, Sybrand Engelbrecht and Roelof van der Merwe claimed two wickets each for the Netherlands, while Aryan Dutt, Vivian Kingma, and Timm van der Gugten secured one wicket each.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first upon losing the toss at the Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground, the Netherlands posted a total of 184 runs, losing four wickets in their 20 overs.
Michael Levitt top-scored with 54 runs off 36 balls, followed by Scott Edwards with 33 runs off 16 balls, Teja Nidamanuru with 31 runs, and Max O'Dowd with four runs. Karan KC and Kushal Malla each took one wicket for Nepal.
Nepal is scheduled to face Namibia on March 1 at the TU Ground.
