Nepali nationals in Portugal to receive passport services

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25

A team of Nepali diplomats from the Embassy of Nepal in France has arrived in Portugal to provide passport services to Nepali citizens in the country.

Led by Deputy Chief of Mission Sita Basnet from the Paris-based Embassy, the team has arrived in the capital city of Portugal, Lisbon, to receive applications for e-passports.

The team commenced its operations on Sunday by establishing an enrollment center, coordinated and facilitated by the Honourary Consulate General.

On the first day, the team collected biometric details of 54 individuals, including Nepali children born in Portugal.

Basnet stated that the team would collect details for e-passports for individuals whose passports were lost or damaged, whose passport expiration date was as of December 31, 2023, those registering for biometrics until April 30, 2024, at the Immigration Agency of Portugal, and Nepali children born in Portugal.

She further mentioned that the team aims to process applications for 100 persons per day, and the camp will continue for a week until March 31.
