National Vitamin 'A' campaign on April 18 and 19

KATHMANDU, APRIL 15

The Nationwide Vitamin 'A' Program for children is scheduled for April 18 and 19.

Under this initiative, Vitamin 'A' capsules will be administered to children aged six months to 59 months, and anti-worming tablets will be distributed to children aged one to five years.

Leela Bikram Thapa, Head of the Nutrition Branch at the Ministry of Health and Population, Department of Health Services, stated that approximately 3.2 million children will receive vitamin A, while around 2.9 million children will be provided with anti-worming tablets.

The government has been organizing the vitamin 'A' administration campaign since 2050 BS. A total of 52,000 female community health volunteers and 10,000 health workers will be deployed for the National Vitamin A program.
