According to the Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD), the country is likely to experience rain starting from tomorrow, offering a much-needed respite from the heatwaves and thick smog that have plagued various regions, including Pokhara and the Federal Capital Kathmandu. This anticipated change in weather comes as a welcome relief, especially amidst concerns over air pollution stemming from ongoing forest fires across the nation.

Today, provinces of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim are expected to experience partly cloudy skies, while other regions will witness partly cloudy to predominantly fair weather conditions, as indicated by the MFD. As night approaches, hilly areas in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to observe partly to generally cloudy skies, contrasting with the rest of the country's partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

However, the MFD anticipates a shift in this weather pattern come Saturday, with isolated areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces predicted to receive light rain accompanied by lightning and thunder.

Likewise, Sunday is expected to bring light rain coupled with thunder and lightning to select areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The impending rainfall is poised to positively impact air quality, particularly in Kathmandu, which has frequently ranked among the world's most polluted cities.

The recent surge in temperatures has also raised concerns, with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reporting 165 incidents across 39 districts on Thursday.

Currently, the country is experiencing the partial influence of western winds and local winds.
