Indian truck driver arrested with 270kg marijuana

BARA, JUNE 18

Bara police have arrested an Indian national with 270 kg of illegal marijuana from Amalekhgunj of Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-12 in Bara on Tuesday.

The Indian truck, bearing license plate NL 01 N 3063, was traveling from Hetauda to Pathlaiya when it was stopped by the police for a routine security check at 12:30 pm. During the inspection, police discovered the marijuana hidden inside the truck.

Following this discovery, police arrested the driver, Antyas Kumar Giri, 19, of Dhanar Diuli, Ramgarh, in India.

Meanwhile, the truck has been impounded for further investigation, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dadhiram Nyaupane, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Bara.
