Prez Paudel bestows honor on paralympic medalist Palesha

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 4
President Ram Chandra Paudel honored the Nepali team, including Taekwondo player Palesha Govardan, who secured a historic bronze medal at the recent Paris Paralympics.
During a program held at the President's Office, Shitalniwas, today, President Paudel and First Lady Sabita Paudel honored Palesha and her team by garlanding them.
Palesha and her coach, Kabiraj Negi Lama, were both recognized and felicitated on the occasion.
Extending his best wishes, President Paudel remarked that Palesha's achievement has brought great honor to Nepal, expressing hope that she will continue to excel and secure a gold medal in the future.
The event was also attended by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhari, Palesha's parents, and officials from the sports association.
In the Paris Paralympics, Palesha triumphed over her Serbian competitor in the 57 kg women's category of Taekwondo K-44, clinching the bronze medal.
This marks a historic milestone for Nepali sports, as Palesha becomes the first Nepali athlete to win an Olympic bronze medal in the Paralympics.
