KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 5

President Ram Chandra Paudel has remarked that the Teej festival fosters social harmony, fraternity, integrity, and unity among all Nepalis.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of Haritalika Teej today, President Paudel expressed that the festival should inspire collective efforts to eradicate all forms of discrimination, violence, and social ills against women.

Celebrated by Hindu women worldwide, the day holds both religious and cultural significance. "Nepali women observe Teej by worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati," the President noted, emphasizing that women, in terms of nature and creation, are revered as supreme beings. He added that Teej also serves to promote religious tolerance.

In his message, President Paudel extended wishes for peace, prosperity, happiness, and strengthened family bonds to all Nepali women at home and abroad.

He further stressed the importance of preserving the festival's cultural authenticity.
