Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the party is not opposed to constitutional amendments.

Speaking to the media at Biratnagar Airport today, he remarked, 'However, any attempts to curtail citizens' rights or undermine past achievements in the name of constitutional amendment will not be tolerated by the CPN (Maoist Centre).'

Dahal declared that the party would reject any efforts to remove the provisions of proportional representation and inclusion, which are designed to uplift suppressed, marginalized, and disadvantaged communities. He emphasized that the Maoist-led 'People's War' resulted in the establishment of rights for Madhesis, Dalits, Muslims, and indigenous nationalities.

The former Prime Minister also asserted that the party was forced to leave power due to its efforts to combat corruption and target intermediaries. 'Now, the party has the opportunity to expand its organization, strengthen itself, and rebuild.'

As the leader of the main opposition, he warned the government against acting contrary to the interests of the nation and its citizens.
