KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 24

Indian Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, concluded his five-day official visit to Nepal and returned home on Sunday.

Major General Prem Dhoj Adhikari, Head of the Department of Military Operations, Nepali Army (NA), bid farewell to General Dwivedi and his spouse, Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi, at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

General Dwivedi arrived in Kathmandu on November 20 at the official invitation of NA Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel. During his visit, President Ramchandra Poudel conferred upon him the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army.

In addition to meeting President Poudel, General Dwivedi paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Defense Minister Manbir Rai, and CoAS General Sigdel. He also visited the Army Command and Staff College in Shivapuri and the Western Division Headquarters in Pokhara.

General Dwivedi's itinerary included offering prayers at the revered Muktinath Temple in Mustang and experiencing a mountain flight, showcasing Nepal's natural beauty.

The Nepali Army expressed its confidence that such high-level visits significantly strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the armies and nations of Nepal and India.
