Nepal secured a commanding five-wicket win against Scotland in their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2 one-day international match, at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA, today.
After being put to bat first by Nepal, Scotland struggled against a disciplined Nepali bowling attack, eventually being bowled out for a modest 154 runs in 41.4 overs.
Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane led the bowling effort with three wickets, while Karan KC, Sompal Kami, and Gulshan Jha took two wickets each, and Arif Sheikh claimed one.
Mark Watt top-scored for Scotland with 34 runs.
In reply, Nepal comfortably chased down the target, finishing at 155 runs in 29.5 overs. Arif Sheikh's steady 51 runs provided a solid foundation for the victory, with contributions from Kushal Bhurtel and Gulshan Jha (25 runs each), and Asif Sheikh, who added 21 runs.
Scotland's Brandon McMullen claimed two wickets, while Bradley Currie, Mark Watt, and Jack Jarvis took one apiece.
This win comes after Nepal's three-wicket loss to the United States in the opening match of the tri-series, while Scotland defeated the United States by a dominant 10 wickets in their first game.
