KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 15

Kartik Naach, the popular dance performed in Patan, took place on Thursday at Kartik Dabali in the Patan Durbar Area.

This 383-year-old tradition is believed to be associated with 17 stories of Lord Vishnu. Different episodes of these stories will be presented daily until November 15.

The tradition of Kartik Naach was initiated by King Siddhi Narasingh Malla, who is widely believed to have introduced this dance for the welfare of the country and its people.
