KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 27

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed Cabinet members and secretaries to ensure effective governance and service delivery.

During the first quarterly review of the implementation of this fiscal year's policies, programs, and budget on Wednesday, PM Oli emphasized the need for a transformative shift in working methods to achieve the desired outcomes.

Acknowledging the challenges of implementing a budget inherited from the previous government, he highlighted the urgency for a radical overhaul of current practices. 'A significant shift in working style is essential,' Oli asserted.

He revealed that approximately 11,000 fraudulent projects had been embedded within the government's framework, necessitating urgent correction and the elimination of irregularities. He emphasized that multi-year budget planning should be grounded in thorough research rather than arbitrary allocation.

'It's time to focus on transformative changes in production, agriculture, energy, information, and technology sectors. National development and economic mobilization cannot rely on rhetoric alone-policies must create tangible employment opportunities. If the government struggles to manage industries, why not entrust capable private sectors with the responsibility?' he questioned.

The Prime Minister reminded senior government officials of the urgency to accelerate economic progress, urging them to work with dedication and enthusiasm. He stressed that ministers, secretaries, and employees must intervene proactively to achieve positive results. Employees who evade responsibilities, he warned, would face not just transfers but disciplinary action.

Reiterating his commitment to tangible results, PM Oli emphasized that the government's accomplishments must be evident in practice, not just in theory.
