KATHMANDU, MARCH 8
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled its annual calendar.
During a press conference on Saturday, CAN officially announced the calendar for the upcoming year.
The calendar includes a comprehensive schedule featuring international tournaments, bilateral series, and domestic cricket competitions for both Nepal's men's and women's teams.
In 2025, Nepal's cricket calendar features ICC League 2, the World Cup Qualifier, the Hong Kong Sixes, as well as various T20 and ODI series.
On the women's side, key tournaments include the Women's World Cup Asia Qualifier and the Emerging Teams Asia Cup, among others.
The women's team will travel to Bhutan as part of their preparations for the upcoming qualifier, said Paras Khadka, Secretary of CAN.
He also announced that the men's team will tour Australia's Northern Territory in July-when cricket is not feasible in Nepal due to the monsoon season-to compete against Big Bash League teams, as well as the 'A' teams of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
This tour is a key component of their preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Khadka shared.
Additionally, CAN is in the final stages of appointing a new head coach for the Nepal men's national cricket team, with the announcement expected in the coming days.
According to Paras Khadka, 70 applicants have applied for the vacant position, including two former head coaches of Nepal's national team.
He also stated that the installation of floodlights and the construction of a 10,000-capacity TU Cricket Stadium would be completed within a few months. During this period, Mulpani Ground will host Nepal's fixtures.
