KATHMANDU, MARCH 26

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has firmly stated that no one holds the power to strip away the rights earned through the struggles of the Nepali people.

Addressing the National Volunteers Gathering, organized by the National Youth Federation Nepal today, PM and CPN (UML) Chair Oli emphasized the strength of youth in safeguarding national interests. He asserted that if the people have yet to fully recognize the Federation's potential, it must now prove its capability-even if it means standing against regressive forces when necessary.

'No one can take away the rights we have fought for. The youth can best affirm this. If anyone dares to destabilize the country, the Youth Federation will strike back like a tiger,' he said, lauding volunteerism as a strong foundation for national service.

PM Oli urged the Federation to mobilize its strength in an organized and dignified manner, akin to the former Youth Force, and called for a permanent, unarmed volunteer team. 'If any regressive force confronts us head-on or attempts to obstruct development efforts, we must firmly resist,' he exhorted.

Defending the government's administrative decisions, PM Oli dismissed criticism regarding a recent employee removal, stating that the Prime Minister is under no obligation to justify such actions. 'An employee was removed, another was appointed. It's done. That is the response. It is not our job to appoint individuals who serve their vested interests,' he remarked.

The Prime Minister also expressed concern over opposition parties obstructing parliamentary proceedings to prevent the passage of bills aimed at replacing ordinances before the March 31 deadline.

UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, People's Organization Coordination Mechanism Chief Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Politburo member Mahesh Basnet, and Federation Chair Kshitij Thebe, among others, shared their perspectives on the significance of the National Volunteer Campaign.
