Radisson Hotel & Residences Kathmandu is set to host the Champaran Food Festival from 1st to 4th May 2025, celebrating the authentic culinary heritage of Bihar. This special gastronomic event will be held at the Terrace Garden, offering guests a chance to savor the bold and rustic flavors of Champaran cuisine.
The festival will feature renowned Bihari chef Saty Prakash Singh, a native of Bihar, who is passionate about reviving traditional cooking techniques and recipes. Known for his expertise in Bihari cuisine, Singh will showcase iconic dishes such as Champaran Meat (Ahuna Style) – slow-cooked mutton infused with mustard oil and whole spices, cooked in a sealed handi, along with a variety of litti-chokha, sattu-based specialties, and other regional delights.
Executive Chef Gyanesh Das of Radisson Hotel & Residences Kathmandu will also bring his creative touch to the festival, collaborating with Singh to offer an unforgettable culinary experience that celebrates the rich cultural exchange between Bihar and Nepal.
Champaran Cuisine is known for its rustic charm, bold spices, and slow-cooking methods, which bring out the natural flavors of ingredients. Signature dishes such as Champaran Meat, litti chokha, and ghugni highlight the essence of Bihar's soul food.
