Acharya receives Rotary Journo Award 2024-25
Senior journalist Bharat Dutt Koirala honored with 'Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award'

KATHMANDU, MAY 17
Kalpana Acharya, editor-in-chief of Health TV online, received the prestigious Rotary Journo Award 2024-25 for disease prevention reporting today.
Acharya received this year's health award from Rotary International District 3292.
Rotary International District 3292 District Governor Rajendra Man Sherchan and other officials presented her with a Rs 51,000 cash prize and a certificate of appreciation at a programme held in the capital on Saturday. Acharya received the award in recognition of her efforts to raise public awareness about disease prevention and treatment in the health sector.
Similarly, the awardees include Narayan Kilambu from education, Pawan Barsha Shah from economic and community development, Sagar Pariyar from water and sanitation, Anita Bhetwal from maternal and child health, Unnati Chaudhary from peace and conflict prevention, and Bikash Rauniyar from the freelancer sector.
Likewise, Media Action Nepal's advisor and veteran journalist Bharat Dutta Koirala received the 'Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award.' Koirala received the Rotary Lifetime Achievement Award, which includes a prize of Rs 100,000, in recognition of his six-decade contribution to the development of Nepali journalism and media.
Namrata Sharma, senior journalist and Chair of the Rotary Journo Award, stated that the award was established to recognise the hardships that reporters and journalists face in order to provide information to society.
Over 50 journalists had submitted their applications for the award. 'Seven journalists have been selected by the esteemed and eminent group of jury for this year's award,' she said.
