KATHMANDU, MAY 22
A team of climbers from the MM Lhotse Expedition Spring 2025, organized by Himalayan Guides Nepal, successfully summited Mount Lhotse (8,516 meters) - the world's fourth-highest peak - on Thursday morning, adding to this season's list of successful ascents on the world's fourth-highest mountain.
At 07:05 AM, Agnieszka Olkowicz (Poland), Terray Ellington Sylvester (USA), and Lhakpa Wongchhu Sherpa (Nepal) reached the summit, marking their second 8,000-meter peak of the season. The trio had earlier climbed Mount Makalu (8,485m) in April.
Later the same morning, at 9:20 am Nepal Time, Andras Kaasik of Estonia and Ang Sumba Sherpa of Nepal also stood atop Lhotse following a determined early-morning push to the summit.
'Their back-to-back successes demonstrate exceptional endurance, teamwork, and preparation under the professional guidance of Himalayan Guides Nepal,' said Iswari Paudel, Managing Director at Himalayan Guides.
The summits were achieved under favorable weather and safe route conditions, and all team members are currently descending safely to lower camps, Paudel added.
