NEPSE gains 23.19 points on Monday, daily turnover reaches Rs 8 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 23.19 points, or 0.88%, on Monday, closing at 2,653.09 points.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks class 'A' companies, increased by 0.54%, while the Float Index, representing actively traded shares, climbed 0.86%.
A total of 324 companies were traded during the session, with 17.5 million shares exchanged through 78,848 transactions. The daily turnover stood at Rs 8.68 billion.
Despite the overall market gain, three sectors ended in the red: Hotels and Tourism (-0.25%), Life Insurance (-0.09%), and Trading (-0.44%). Among the gainers, the Others sector led with a 2.63% rise, followed by Hydropower (2.35%) and Investment (1.14%). No other sector gained more than 1%.
Out of the total traded stocks, 191 advanced, 56 declined, and one remained unchanged.
By the end of the trading day, total market capitalization reached Rs 4.419 trillion.
