KATHMANDU, MAY 20
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed by 49.09 points, or 1.86 percent, on Tuesday to close at 2,677.45.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks class 'A' companies, rose by 1.96 percent, while the Float Index, reflecting actively traded stocks, increased by 2.18 percent.
A total of 310 companies were traded during the day, with 16,888,459 shares changing hands across 73,054 transactions. The daily turnover reached Rs 7.31 billion.
All sectors closed in the green, led by the Hotels and Tourism sector, which posted the highest gain at 3.42 percent. It was followed by Development Banks (2.95%), Hydropower (2.45%), Finance (2.44%), and Investment (2.33%).
Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd (SINDU) and Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd (SAPDBL) were among the top gainers, both hitting the upper circuit.
Out of the total traded scrips, 229 advanced, 15 declined, and one remained unchanged.
By market close, total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.455 trillion.
