Heavy rainfall likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces

KATHMANDU, JUNE 12

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that westerly and local winds are currently influencing the western and central regions of the country, while monsoon winds are affecting Koshi Province.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the country. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

According to the Division, heavy rainfall is likely in one or two locations within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, light rain and snowfall are possible in a few areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, hilly regions including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some hilly areas of the aforementioned provinces. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is forecast in one or two areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Light to moderate rain is also likely in several high hilly and mountainous regions within these provinces, the Division informed.
