The weather across the country is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely at a few places of Koshi Province, and at one or two places of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. There are also chances of light rainfall or snowfall at one or two locations in the high mountainous region.
Tonight, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as the hilly regions of the country. Elsewhere, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mainly fair. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, a few places in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and one or two places in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces. Light rainfall or snowfall is also expected at a few locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations in similar regions of the other provinces.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather conditions are currently being influenced by westerly and local winds in the western and central parts of the country, while monsoon winds are affecting most parts of Koshi Province.
In the Kathmandu Valley, the day and night will remain partly to generally cloudy, with chances of brief rain or thundershowers. The probability of rainfall is around 30 percent in the afternoon and 40 percent at night, the department said.
