KATHMANDU, MAY 31
The weather today is expected to be partly to generally cloudy in Koshi and Gandaki provinces as well as the hilly regions across the country, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mainly fair skies.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi Province, and at a few places in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, including hilly areas. One or two locations in other provinces may also witness similar conditions.
There are chances of light rain or snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, and at one or two places in similar regions elsewhere.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces and hilly regions, with partly cloudy to mainly fair conditions elsewhere. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some parts of Koshi and at a few locations in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, including hilly areas. Isolated areas in other regions may also receive rain.
Light rainfall or snowfall is expected at some high hilly and mountainous locations in Koshi Province and at one or two places in similar regions of the remaining provinces.
The prevailing weather is being influenced by a western wind system, local wind patterns, and moisture brought in from the Bay of Bengal.
In Kathmandu Valley, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected, with brief rain or thundershowers likely during the day and night.
