Highway Updates: Multiple road sections affected by landslides across provinces

KATHMANDU, JUNE 18

Several major highways across the country have been partially or completely blocked due to landslides and flood damage, according to a status update issued by Nepal Police as of 10:00am today morning.

In Koshi Province, the Rabi Rake–Bhedetar road section in Dhankuta District is open for one-way traffic due to a landslide at Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-5.

In Bagmati Province, three sections of the Arniko Highway remain completely blocked due to landslides at Kodari in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Larcha in Bhotekoshi-3, and Koplang in Bhotekoshi-2.

In Lumbini Province, the Kaligandaki Corridor at Barlaba in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-6 of Gulmi District is operating under one-way traffic due to landslide.

In Karnali Province, Jumla–Mugu road section at Chulelgaun in Sinja Rural Municipality-2 is also only open for one-way movement due to landslide, while the Bheri Corridor in Dolpa District is completely blocked at Chalghat in Tripurasundari Municipality-9 due to flood damage.

In Sudurpaschim Province, the Gokuleshwar–Khalanga road section in Darchula District is fully blocked following a landslide at Mahakali Rural Municipality-1.

Efforts to clear the blocked sections and restore full traffic flow are underway, police said.
