BYD rolls off 13-millionth new energy vehicle, sets global benchmark

YANGWANG U7 marks milestone as BYD leads global NEV market

KATHMANDU, JULY 22

BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs), celebrated the roll-off of its 13-millionth NEV at its Xiaomo Production Base in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone on Sunday. The milestone model was the high-end YANGWANG U7.

In the first half of 2025, BYD reported strong sales growth. Domestic sales reached 2.113 million units, up 31.5% year-on-year, while overseas sales surged by 128.5% to 472,000 units. This performance positioned BYD as the top global seller of NEVs, according to the press release issued by the company.

BYD's 13-millionth new energy vehicle rolled off the production line, reflecting the favor and trust of both domestic and international markets and users in BYD, the company said. 'YANGWANG's continuous breakthroughs not only mark a historic leap for Chinese brands in the high-end automotive sector but also demonstrate the strong competitiveness and industrial confidence of Chinese automakers in the new energy era.'
