Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd. in Nepal, has officially launched the BYD Dolphin 2025 version, introducing several upgrades including the industry's first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Low Voltage Battery (LVB).
The new LFP LVB replaces the traditional lead-acid battery, offering enhanced durability and performance. According to BYD, the battery is six times lighter, has five times lower self-discharge, and a lifespan of up to 15 years. It comes with a warranty of 6 years or 150,000 km.
Built on the BYD e-Platform 3.0 and equipped with the Blade Battery technology, the Dolphin 2025 delivers a WLTP range of 340 km. Its DC fast-charging feature allows the battery to reach 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
Other key upgrades in the 2025 version include, sport-tuned suspension for better handling on diverse terrains, brighter LED headlights for improved visibility, upgraded air conditioning system with improved cooling and heating, and new features like Mobile Phone NFC Key, Bluetooth Key, and Passenger Door Switch.
The model also introduces a new color, Atlantis Grey, expanding the available palette to three: Atlantis Grey, Urban Grey, and Ski White.
Despite the enhancements, the Dolphin 2025 is priced at Rs 41.15 lakh, which includes a 7kW home charger.
During the launch event, Cimex announced a global delivery milestone of 830,000 BYD Dolphin units, with Nepal accounting for 2,490 units. The Dolphin continues to hold its position as Nepal's best-selling electric hatchback.

The BYD Dolphin 2025 is now available for test drives and bookings at BYD showrooms and dealerships across Nepal, the company said.
