Two arrested for foreign employment fraud

KATHMANDU, JULY 22

Police on Tuesday made public two individuals accused of cheating people out of Rs 2.164 million by falsely promising foreign employment opportunities.

The accused are Junu Rana Magar (29) of Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality-4, Gorkha-currently residing in Kathmandu-15-and Sudeep Kumar Yadav (33) of Gulariya Municipality-2, Bardiya, currently residing in Kathmandu-32.

Magar allegedly took Rs 310,000 from a person promising a job in Slovakia, while Yadav collected Rs 1.854 million from another individual, claiming to arrange employment in Serbia. Both had gone out of contact after receiving the money.

They have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal action.
