KATHMANDU, JULY 7

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested three individuals involved in robbing Indian tourists under the pretense of helping them find a hotel.

According to the Office, the incident took place in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, where two unknown individuals approached Indian tourists offering assistance in finding accommodation. The tourists were then lured to the sixth floor of Dhurba Tara Complex near Gongabu Chowk, where they were assaulted and robbed.

Following an investigation, the police arrested the suspects on July 4 around 7:00 PM from the Nayabazar area of Kathmandu-16.

Arrested individuals have been identified as Pasang Tamang (22), Kiran Kumar Moktan (26), both permanent residents of Namobuddha Municipality-11, Kavrepalanchok, currently residing in Sohkhuṭṭe Nayabazar-16, Kathmandu; Nir Kumar Tamang (28) also of Namobuddha Municipality-11, Kavrepalanchok, currently residing in Jhanda Tole, Tokha Municipality-10, Kathmandu.

The suspects have been handed over to the District Police Office, Bhadrakali, Kathmandu for further investigation and legal action.
