KATHMANDU, AUGUST 15

The Department of Prison Management has decided to transfer Rabi Lamichhane, Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, from Rupandehi Prison to Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur.

Lamichhane, who is facing a legal case related to cooperative fraud, is currently being held at Rupandehi Prison. He had earlier applied for a transfer, and the decision was made on Friday.

According to the Department's Information Officer, Sandesh Prasad Joshi, an official letter was sent to Rupandehi Prison on the same day.

Joshi further added that Lamichhane will be transferred to Nakkhu Prison at the earliest possible date with appropriate security arrangements in place.
