KATHMANDU, AUGUST 27

The Surkhet–Jumla section of the Karnali Highway has been brought to a standstill after a road collapse at Kalikhola in Kalikot district, disrupting transport in the region.

According to Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary, Chief of the Road Division Office, equipment and manpower have already been deployed for repair and maintenance following last night's incident. However, he cautioned that it will take some time before traffic resumes smoothly.

Authorities have urged travelers, including tourists heading toward Jumla and the Karnali region, to use alternative routes until the repair work is completed.
