Birgunj Customs collects Rs 39.15bln in two months
Achieves over 90 percent of targeted revenue for the period

Birgunj Customs Office reported collecting Rs 39.15 billion in revenue during the first two months of the current fiscal year, achieving 90.99 percent of its target.
The Department of Customs had set a two-month target of Rs 43.03 billion. Of the total collection, Rs 18.44 billion was raised in the first month (mid-July to mid-August), while the second month (mid-August to mid-September) brought in Rs 20.12 billion.
Daily records show significant inflows, including Rs 2.37 billion on August 28, Rs 1.92 billion on September 2, Rs 1.71 billion on September 13, and Rs 1.11 billion on September 15. Even during days of nationwide protests, the office continued steady collections, reporting Rs 30 million on September 9, Rs 60 million on September 11, and Rs 110 million on September 12.
The Birgunj Customs Office remains Nepal's largest gateway for trade revenue, underscoring its critical role in sustaining government income despite challenging conditions in the domestic economy and cross-border trade.
