Six killed, six injured in Panchthar bolero accident; Deceased identified

Vehicle plunges 300 meters off road along Tamor Corridor

TAPLEJUNG, OCTOBER 5

The identities of six individuals who lost their lives in a Bolero accident in Panchthar district have been confirmed. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the vehicle plunged about 300 meters off the road in Kattike, Kummyak Rural Municipality-3, along the Tamor Corridor, killing six and injuring six others.

According to police, the Bolero (Me 1 J 3055) was traveling to Dharan from Sanwa in Mikwakhola Rural Municipality-4 when it lost control and veered off the right side of the road.

The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Manisha Karki of Urlabari Municipality-8, Morang; 29-year-old Yuna Tamang of Meringden Rural Municipality-5, Taplejung; 33-year-old Dhankumar Chongbang; 32-year-old Abhishek Limbu; 33-year-old Binod Lungwa Limbu of Meringden-2; and 21-year-old Gita Hangam of Meringden-4.

The injured-22-year-old Mahesh Limbu and 25-year-old Bimal Limbu of Meringden-5; 25-year-old Manu Sanwa Limbu of Mikwakhola-4; seven-year-old Anish Limbu, son of Santosh Limbu of the same locality; 30-year-old Sanjohang Limbu; and 35-year-old Mahesh Guragain of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-7, Sunsari-are receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.

Police said preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a steep section of the Tamor Corridor road.
