Gold hits record high of Rs 248,500 per tola

Silver also surges to Rs 3,325 per tola amid continued price rally

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 14

The price of gold skyrocketed in the domestic market on Tuesday, rising by Rs 8,100 per tola in a single day to reach a new historic high of Rs 248,500 per tola.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold was traded at Rs 240,400 per tola on Monday.

The precious metal has been on a continuous upward trend since the reopening of the market after the Dashain festival. The market had opened at Rs 230,600 per tola on Asoj 19, marking a total increase of Rs 25,300 per tola.

Silver prices have also witnessed a sharp rise, gaining Rs 105 per tola on Tuesday.

With this, silver is being traded at Rs 3,325 per tola, up from Rs 3,220 per tola on Monday, setting a new record in the domestic bullion market.
