Two Indian nationals arrested in Kathmandu on abduction charge

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 18
Police have arrested two Indian nationals in Kathmandu on charges of abducting and holding a man hostage.
The suspects, identified as Paramprit Singh (24) and Labaprit Singha (28) from Punjab, India, allegedly detained a 26-year-old man from Haryana under the pretext of sending him to Australia.
According to Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the duo had confined the victim in a hotel room in Sundhara and demanded Rs 2 million in ransom. Acting on a tip-off, police rescued the victim and arrested the suspects.
The District Court, Kathmandu, has remanded them to seven days in custody for further investigation.
Police also seized four mobile phones from their possession.
