KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 10

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the Pashupati Area Development Trust should not be turned into a centre for political recruitment.

Addressing a meeting of the Trust's Board of Directors today, Prime Minister Karki remarked that political cadres should not be appointed to such institutions, as only individuals with a religious background are suitable to serve in religious bodies.

She stated, 'Religious organisations have their own rules, norms, traditional beliefs, and customs. They embody our native culture, which we must protect. Pashupatinath is a sacred site revered by Hindus around the world, and it is therefore inappropriate to appoint political cadres to such an organisation.'
