KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 11
UNICEF Nepal concluded its 'Climate Cinema: Children on the Frontlines of Climate Action' campaign, spotlighting young voices and local stories from across Nepal in the fight against climate change.
Over two weeks, the campaign toured multiple provinces - from Sudurpaschim to Madhesh - using film screenings and storytelling to highlight children's real-life experiences with floods, droughts, and landslides.
At the closing event in Kathmandu, Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Dr. Madan Prasad Pariyar, who will lead Nepal's delegation to COP30, pledged to take the children's messages and recommendations to the global forum.
'Climate change is not only an environmental issue; it is a child rights crisis,' said UNICEF Representative Alice Akunga, reaffirming UNICEF's commitment to support child-centered climate action.
The initiative, organized with support from youth networks, schools, and development partners, aims to ensure that children's perspectives shape both national and global climate policies.
