Remittances soar 35% in Q1 of 2025/26, NRB data shows
Ashoj month alone sees inflow of Rs. 201 billion amid rising overseas employment

Nepal's remittance inflows jumped 35.4 percent to Rs. 553.31 billion in the first three months of the fiscal year 2025/26, according to Nepal Rastra Bank's latest macroeconomic report released today. This is a sharp acceleration compared to an 11.9 percent rise in the same period last year.
The report highlights that during mid-September to mid-October (Ashoj month) alone, remittance inflows reached Rs. 201.22 billion, up from Rs. 144.17 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year.
In US Dollar terms, the inflows increased 29.2 percent to $3.94 billion, compared to a 10.6 percent rise in the same period last year, reflecting continued contributions from Nepali workers abroad.
