RSP wins four more HoR seats in Bhaktapur, Nuwakot, Gulmi and Dang

KATHMANDU, MARCH 7 Candidates of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have secured victories in four more constituencies in the House of Representatives elections, winning seats in Bhaktapur-2, Nuwakot-2, Gulmi-2 and Dang-2. In Bhaktapur-2, RSP candidate Rajiv Khatri won with 42,334 votes, defeating Mahesh Basnet of the CPN-UML, who received 10,996 votes. Kabir Rana of the Nepali Congress secured 8,401 votes. A total of 72,761 votes were cast out of 98,356 registered voters. Similarly, Dr Achutam Lamichhane of the RSP won Nuwakot-2 with 32,054 votes, defeating Jagdishwar Nar Singh KC of the Nepali Congress, who received 15,503 votes. Keshav Raj Pandey of the CPN-UML secured 8,285 votes. A total of 70,452 votes were cast out of 123,939 voters. In Gulmi-2, RSP candidate Govinda Panthi won a closely contested race with 16,967 votes, defeating Gokarna Bista of the CPN-UML, who secured 16,406 votes, a margin of 561 votes. Bhuvan Prasad Shrestha of the Nepali Congress received 14,434 votes. Likewise, Bipin Kumar Acharya of the RSP was elected from Dang-2 with 43,557 votes, defeating Shankar Pokhrel of the CPN-UML, who received 15,282 votes. Kiran Kishor Ghimire of the Nepali Congress secured 11,509 votes.
