KATHMANDU, APRIL 9 The Nepal-Korea Business Entrepreneurs' Association has been established to strengthen economic cooperation between Nepal and South Korea, with a focus on entrepreneurship and investment. The association was launched alongside a knowledge-sharing programme organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal on April 8. South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Tae-Young highlighted the role of Nepali returnees from South Korea as key contributors to Nepal's economic development. He stressed that the Employment Permit System should be seen as a platform for skill development and entrepreneurship. NKBEA President Prem Kumar Gurung said the association aims to promote sustainable partnerships in business, investment and production by leveraging the skills and capital of returnee workers, while also attracting Korean investment. The association plans to organise business fairs, develop a centralised database, and conduct capacity-building programmes. It also aims to support joint investment initiatives in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, energy, construction and information technology. Additionally, NKBEA seeks to establish a one-stop support system for Korean investors and enhance bilateral trade, technology transfer, and startup development between the two countries.
