Swedish cancer survivor athlete Aron Anderson summits Lobuche East

Kathmandu, April 13 In January 1996, Aron Anderson was diagnosed with cancer in his pelvis , which led to him losing the ability to walk at the age of 9. Since then, he has used a wheelchair. Now, Aron Anderson is a Swedish adventurer, motivational speaker, and athlete known for his remarkable achievements despite significant physical challenges. On April 8, 2026, he successfully summited Lobuche East (6,119 m). The expedition was led by Adventure Ascent and guided by Pasang Sherpa together with Swedish adventure guide Oskar Normelli.
'The Sherpa who supported Aron was Sarki Sherpa and Chiring Sherpa, Pasang and I were the expedition leaders,' said Oskar Normelli. 'We also had 14 Swedish clients with us,' he added. Aron Anderson has completed several extreme adventures. He has, among other things, reached the South Pole and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. He has also participated in endurance races using a wheelchair and carried out multiple demanding expeditions around the world.
Through his achievements, he continues to inspire people worldwide and frequently gives talks about motivation, goal-setting, and overcoming obstacles.
