Kathmandu: Surya Nepal Central Open, the sixth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2009-10, is teeing off here at the Gokarna Golf Course on Tuesday. Rabi Khadka, Ramesh Nagarkoti, Deepak Thapa Magar, Rajan Thapa among others will vie for the championship played on strokeplay format over the 72 holes. Only the top 20 pros and ties will make the cut after the second round along with four amateur golfers. In all, 23 pros will compete in the Rs 350,000 event organised by Nepal Professional Golfers Association. The champions will earn Rs 72,000 while the runner-up receive Rs 46,000 and the third-placed pro will get Rs 36,000. Pros making the cut are assured of their shares of cash prizes. Rupak Acharya will lead the amateur front along with Prasanna Upreti and Ramesh Adhikari.
